In 2015, I escaped from my country to Thailand to rescue my life from the genocide. I was held in Thailand’s immigration detention center and orphanage for approximately two years by Thailand authorities. Then I was brought to the USA by the UNHCR and placed in a foster care program. When I was 17, I was unaccompanied from the foster care program and became independent.
